Employment Tribunal - Latest.

The Secretary of State for Trade and Industry announced proposals to reform employment tribunals on 27th November.

These proposals will be implemented by

Amendments to the employment tribunal rules of procedure. New rules are expected to come into force in early Spring 2001, depending on statutory consultation and Parliamentary approval.

New legislation to introduce a scheme by ACAS to arbitrate claims of unfair dismissal, which will be brought forward shortly.
